Together with the packaging service provider Verdesoft, Herrmann Ultraschall has developed a cup and a tube that can be closed by ultrasonics. The packaging concepts have a comparable product protection as conventional plastic packaging and save up to 75 % plastic.
The advantages of ultrasonic sealing are ideal for paper-based packaging: the cold tools do not damage the paper and only heat the sealing layer. The amount of energy applied can be precisely parameterized. Robert Hueber, Head of the PACKAGING Division at Herrmann Ultraschall, comments: "Ultrasonic technology can deliver good sealing results even with a narrow process window, especially with regard to tightness and appearance.
Herrmann Ultraschall regularly organizes webinars on the subject of sustainability and new packaging trends, such as mono-materials and paper composites – these can also be tailored for individual customers on request, including virtual laboratory tests where the customer can send in his material in advance.
